FLAG-MAKING & FLOAT-BUILDING

Venue: Clarion Village Apartments 12 - 3pm

Come along and help us build this year's Pride float, make some new flags and banners to get your voice heard on the Parade! Some materials available or bring your own: experienced hands can show you new techniques.

A NIGHT AT THE GLASSHOUSE

Venue: Swan Suite, Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo**

Test your knowledge of things queer and non-queer with out

TABLE QUIZ in partnership with OUTWEST IRELAND

Doors open 7.30pm for 8pm start

Excellent prizes to be won including a self-catering weekend for 4in Galway or Sligo courtesy of Albanne Properties

DRAMA PERFORMANCE from OVER THE RAINBOW

The Northwest's own LGBT Drama Group present a short piece devised in their first series of workshops

PRIDE PARADE

Sligo Town

Assemble outside City Hall 1.45pm, Parade moves off 2.15pm

featuring Carnival Costumes from Cillian Rogers and Imelda Peppard***

*** Cillian Rogers & Imelda Peppard: Carnivale Bacchanal

Cillian & Imelda are two of the country's most talented Carnival artists, and their creations have been performed all over the world. Their sources of inspiration are Mythology, Mystery and Magic and their otherworldly creations rise above the crowd.

They are based at The Workhouse, Dromore West, Co. Sligo

'Straight but not Narrow'?

Friends and family are welcome to join us on the Parade to support the rights of LGBT people to live without fear.

 

Post-Parade relaxation at CHILL OUT

Venue: Upstairs at Tobergal Lane Cafe, Tobergal Lane, Sligo

4 - 8pm. Chilled sounds, good food and good company with sounds from DJ LOTUS

Sunday 9th August

'OH, I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE

THE SEA-PRIDE'!

SHORESIDE BBQ

Venue: Easkey FRC and shore, Co.Sligo

*Pride Bus leaves Clarion Village Apartments at 12 noon. Bring your beach ball (and togs?) and join us for an afternoon of sun, fun and silly sports! We'll be welcomed by Easkey Family Resource Centre and thanks to them, Easkey village is going 'Gay for the Day'

FREE (bring a bit of grub!)

Bus returns to Clarion Village Apartments approx 6pm

 

* Pride buses are free but donations very welcome

** Childminding available for evening events at small charge.

Please let us know if your needs in advance if possible

^^ Accommodation is self-catering and each room has its own key. A number of apartments are designated non-smoking and/or non-drinking. Please let us know your preference when booking.

 

We try our best to use venues that are accessible to people with disabilities. The Leitrim Sculpture Centre and the Glasshouse Hotel are fully accessible. Ground floor apartments are available on request.
